There have been times where I wished I did not have to work full time, but I am currently enjoying my work very much and have found I missed it the last 3 weeks I've been recovering from surgery. I do look forward to retirement when I can do whatever I want.

You could say you are "creating a home". I have a friend who, after a brush with cancer that left her unable to have children, decided life was too short to spend most of it at the office, and now just works part-time. She keeps house, enjoys golfing & bowling with friends and doing volunteer work. If you can swing it financially, why not?? I have worked full time for 28 years... but I am hoping to retire when I turn 55 or 56. There has to be some sort of compensation for missing out on motherhood, right?

I was unemployed for the first six months I was married. People used to ask me what I did with my time, but I can honestly say I was never bored. (Broke, yes, bored, no, lol.) loribethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09272814565916935113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4587674218992969044.post-84091348960689050122013-11-18T05:30:26.933+10:302013-11-18T05:30:26.933+10:30Domestic work isnt really valued in our society an...Domestic work isnt really valued in our society anymore... That's why I'm celebrating with you, you trailblazer! :-D Amelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16792921371964029469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4587674218992969044.post-10888222607992386162013-11-17T15:02:49.932+10:302013-11-17T15:02:49.932+10:30I vote for Homesteader! Which is a role that goes back through the ages.
I guess being a trailblazer in that I need to do that without the title "mother". It's almost like I'm not allowed to do that without being a mum. If I'm not mothering then by some strange social law, I should be a "career woman".
But it's not what I want in my life anymore. Being a mum was supposed to get me out of that life. Now I just have to get myself out of it.Annie Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13511943107737624183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4587674218992969044.post-4329753661308320512013-11-17T12:17:58.124+10:302013-11-17T12:17:58.124+10:30LOL, Savannah! But I just can't imagine that working in a conversation.
Stranger: "What do you do?" Doing a huge project like that is surely a good thing when hubby's not around.

I'd call you a TRAILBLAZER! :-D How's that? At least when I googled it, the first definition that came up was: "a person who makes a new track through wild country." It's a wild country indeed - life after infertility. :-)

I'm also thankful that I can do part-time work while we still have enough money to live and save and enjoy a holiday every now and then. :-) Do show us pics of your garden and anything else you'd like to share! :-DAmelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16792921371964029469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4587674218992969044.post-66964927256641083312013-11-16T15:01:10.586+10:302013-11-16T15:01:10.586+10:30My first thought was domestic, but even I'm no...My first thought was domestic, but even I'm not sure if I like that title either.
